Course Outline of the Department
Having taken into consideration information technology as the core whereas organizational management and application as the targets, the course plan the Depart has to offer enables students to develop information technology-related abilities and to master the change of organizations once incorporating into them information technology so that students can develop professional skills and cultural competence required by management, application, and integration of information systems. The ultimate objective of the Department in short is to cultivate outstanding professional information management talents.
Five categories have been set up to accommodate all the courses the Department has to offer. They are: Information Technology, Management, Systems, Decision Making, and Application. See below for details.
1. Basic Information Courses build up the ability to learn and put into action information technology.
2. Basic
Management Courses focus on key knowledge of management, and the change management incorporated by enterprises to cope with
information technology.
3. Courses on Establishment, Management, and Maintenance of Information Systems enable students
to develop management information systems answering to different needs, such as production, marketing, accounting, finance,
human resources, etc.
4. Courses on Information and Decision-Making Systems focus on models employed by enterprises for
data analysis and decision making. Courses include for instance Decision Support and Expert Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology and Management.
5. Enterprise Resource Integration & Management
Courses enable students to master the integration and management of enterprise resources. Courses include for
instance Electronic Commerec, Enterprise Resource Planning, Office Automation Systems, and Practice in Information
Management.
In order to cope with the emphases upon “Academic Modules” and “Teachers’ Professional Specialties”, the Department has recently created five groups of courses/modules for both obligatory courses, i.e. basic theories and practical training, and optional courses, i.e. application and advanced courses; they are:
1. College of Management-specific core courses
2. Information Management-specific core courses
3. Digital
Content-specific professional modules
4. E-commerce-specific professional modules
5. Knowledge Management-specific
professional modules
